10 Tips For Success. Job Interviews. Performance Interviews

Being on the Hot Seat
A good job interview or raise interview begins with being prepared before you go. Know your God-given strengths. No matter who you are, try to remember that everyone feels a bit stressed when either interviewing for a new job, or trying to convince the boss you deserve a raise. I’d like to ease some of the tension and fears.

Short and simple
Go for a walk first, to clear your head. It also helps you to be more alert and bright eyed. Eat some brain food: protein. Be well hydrated.

Here’s ten great tips I learned from a former supervisor:

  • Choose confidence. You have a lot to offer. Know your God-given strengths.
  • Don’t talk negatively about others. (If you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say anything about others.)
  • Accept how you feel. If you feel a bit nervous, don’t fight it. Take a deep breath. Smile.
  • Be sure to maintain eye contact. Don’t look down at your feet or fidget.
  • Be serious. Not silly. Don’t try to be clever or entertaining. Be professional.
  • Explain SPECIFIC personal accomplishments. (And the how and the why of each.)
  • What are your goals? Why do you want the job or deserve a raise?
  • Bring up a weakness without being asked. Name a strength & how it benefits the position you are interviewing about.
  • When asked a question, stay on topic. Focus your answers. Speak clearly.
  • Don’t interrupt.

This can be YOU…
SUCCESS…

Need an extra bit of confidence in your strengths and abilities? It is of utmost importance for life and employment and missionary success, that you discover, embrace, and live your personal strengths and spiritual gifts.

Set up an appointment for a mentor coaching session. And, after your interview, check back and let me know how it goes for you…I really want to know.

God bless you bunches!
