The World Is In Turmoil. You Have 3 Choices.

Why are you here?

line_figure_depressed_400_clr_10078The continuous flow of news is disturbing. We can begin to feel helpless. What is the purpose of your life? Is it just to get through another day? Do you long for peace?

Life is moving at warp speed.

With more and more demands on your time, when was the last time you stopped to ask yourself:

  • Why am I here? On planet earth. At this time in history? For what purpose?
  • Am I here merely to make the best out of whatever life throws at me?
  • Who am I to serve?
  • What makes me smile and lightens my step?
  • Am I intentional about how I spend any discretionary time I have?
  • How do I spend that time when I first get out of bed and before I get into bed at night?
  • What ARE my STRENGTHS, anyway? Why am I spending so much time trying to FIX my weaknesses?

It is a fact. The world IS in turmoil. So, you have 3 choices:

  1. Live in Fear.
  2. Live in denial.
  3. Live in Faith and Trust in God’s plan for you personally.

So, rather than cower in the corner or live in denial, isn’t it time to fully focus on WHY you are here? To discover your gifts and your strengths. To embrace them as a way to connect more closely with Your Maker, the only One who created you just the way you are! He knew what He was doing when He “plunked you down” right here, right now. He is the only One who has the answers for each of us about how to live in a world full of so much turmoil.

What’s Essential?

I’ve been reading “Essentialism. The Disciplined Pursuit of Less” by Greg McKeown. The book is NOT about “downsizing”. Or eliminating and concentrating your STUFF. It is about the way you look at your life. The way you solve problems.

I had a great conversation with the waiters at a local restaurant today. They are amazing young people! They were curious to know about the “Essentialism…” book I was reading. I gave them a bit of a summary and that led to a discussion about how we often try to FIX our weaknesses rather than embracing our God-chosen, God-given STRENGTHS…the foundation for Basic Life Skills development.

After all, how can you be your best YOU if you only know and concentrate on and try to fix what you are NOT. That really resonated with my restaurant friends. Trying to be all things to all people. As my Dad used to say, “being a jack of all trades and the master of none”.

Rather, God has a better plan for us. His desire is that you spend your life in pursuit of discovering your strengths and living with this Essentialism approach to your life. Being focused. Pursuing less brings more peace, joy, contentment, and purpose in your life. And who doesn’t want that???

Moms, it’s ok to face the fact that you really cannot do it all.

And, it is essential to know:

  • Who you are
  • Why you are here
  • Who you are to serve
  • And…WHY!

In these times, it is really crucial that you focus on God’s plan for you. His intent. You don’t have to be alone in this. I can help! Guaranteed!

In fact, I have a plan that you might like…
