Psalm 90:14 “Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.”
God loves to satisfy us with Himself…and with His creation. It is one way that He shows us His unfailing love.
As the Psalmist states … realizing that God’s love never fails, brings joy into our hearts. Even when we are sad. We are all so busy. But…When we make the decision to stop, look, and listen, He awakens our senses. And plops His love right down into that busyness or into that sad heart and joy pours out!
He wants to be our satisfaction
He so wants us to be glad and to be satisfied in Him alone — all our days. No matter what is going on in our lives. He wants to be our First Love and to be above all others in our affection. One way to do that is for us to be mindful of the wonders of His creation. To appreciate what He does every day to give us so much beauty to fascinate and delight our senses.
What about you?
Maybe it is a good reminder today for you to: Stop. Look. Listen. AND to remember that this is your Father’s world. And He has “gifted” it to you to enjoy. He adores you and is showing off His creativity. Just for you!
Finding God in the rain
I remember specifically, one early morning…while on the mission field, and homeschooling 2 young children, my husband out of town, and being overwhelmingly sad and homesick; and God became especially close. I was outside alone on the porch in the quiet of that early morning. I was noticing how rain makes a delightful sound when it hits the pavement and splashes back up….as though reaching out for its Creator. Its bounce appeared almost cheerful. It captured my fascination.
It even seemed to have a special fragrance all its own
As though it could be the very breath of God surrounding me and permeating the air. As though Father God is breathing fresh life into all His creation. Including into you and into me. Stop. Look. Listen.
There He is again…loving you. Loving me. We are blessed!
Isaiah 40:28 “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, does not become weary or tired.”
How pleased He is when we are delighted with the gifts He sends for us to enjoy.
