Missing Ingredient

heart_puzzle_piece_missing_pc_400_clr_1674Have you ever wondered what might be a missing ingredient in your prayers? Could it be worship? Is it possible? I know for me, worship can so easily be what I neglect in my private alone time with God. Not meaning to, but it just gets crowded out by more pressing matters. Sad, huh? So, it helps me to think of new and fresh ways to keep that time alive and well with God each day.

On the days when I am intentional about worshipping God throughout the day, everything just seems to flow better. “Coincidently” I am more at peace and more focused on the important rather than the urgent things that pull at me all day every day.

We Moms need to be especially intentional about keeping a close relationship with God. We have a very important job to do…raising the next generation. We want to reflect Christ to them. And we simply cannot do it on our own. We need to go to the Source of the peace that we so desperately need.

I’ve listed some fun things that have helped me to regain focus on worshipping the Source of the peace I need when all seems chaos around me.

As I write this blog for you, I am praying especially for you, dear Mama. I am praying that as you praise God for who He is, that you will be restored. And refreshed. And empowered. And that you will feel fresh delight in your calling as Mom. I believe in you! You don’t have to do this Mom thing alone! God wants to give you whatever you need to “carry on” (as the British say) with joy!!!

Here you go…some ideas to get you started…It would be fun for you to fill in the rest of each category and share it with us here.

1. Start with the alphabet. Go from A to Z, and name some attributes of God

For instance: A = Always there; B = Believes in me.

Easy! Now YOU go…:-)

2. Research the many names of God and speak them out loud:

For instance: Jehovah-jireh = God the Provider; Jehovah-rapha = the Lord who Heals.

Now YOUR turn!! 🙂

3. Think about the various ways to speak of your relationship with God:

For instance: I’m His child. He is my Father; I’m a princess. He is my King; I’m a sheep. He is my Shepherd.

What else can you think of??? YOUR turn!!! 🙂

Do you need someone to talk to about going deeper with God? That is one of my very favorite topics. I’d love to help you find out who God intended you to be when He thought you up. And help you get on that path of finding inner joy and fulfillment (your purpose), walking in your gifts, talents, passions, and strengths!!!

  1. I love your ideas for ramping up the praise portion of our time with the Father. Some of your methods I have used and some are new to me. I especially liked the “Relationship” catagory. I am his Princess, and he is my King. Sweet! Thanks, Pam. xo

Thanks for stopping by, Carolyn Dunn. I love finding fresh new ways to worship the King of Kings! What fun to know you share that love!

  2. PS: I really like your graphic too. Do you have a favorite place to obtain graphics? cbd

Carolyn Dunn, I wish I could claim credit for the graphic. My Virtual Assistant gets the credit for that. 🙂
