My heart is overflowing this week. The Lord granted me amazing “connections” with family. I am blessed!
BECAUSE my heart is too full to even think of MY words to say to you this week, I wanted to share what GOD has to say to and about family.
“…Great is the LORD who delights in blessing His servant with peace!” (Psalm 35:26)
“…The LORD watches over those who fear [respect/honor] Him, those who rely on His unfailing love.” (Psalm 33:18)
“The LORD hears His people when they call to Him for help. He rescues them…[He is] close to the brokenhearted.” (Psalm 34:17, 18)
Through prayer and His Word, God impressed on me while I was still pregnant with my first child that: it is never too early to train up your children in the ways of the Lord. It’s good for them to hear you stop in the midst of a problem and pray…seeking God’s wisdom and help. They need to see you and hear you do that. Out loud. From day one. It is never too early to speak Scripture promises over them. Rather, it is modeling to them how to handle “life” in this crazy world. (Kids catch more than they are taught.)
“What joy for the nation [family] whose God is the LORD…” (Psalm 33:17)
“We put our hope in the LORD… He is our help and our shield.” (Psalm 33:18, 20)
You might even want to do what I did. My two children each went to sleep at night listening to the New Testament [on cassette tape] as they went off to sleep every night!
I have a question for you: How do you instill the fear [respect/honor] of the Lord in YOUR children?
Would you do me a favor and scroll down a bit … below the: “You might like” (past blogs), because there is a cool “comments” box especially for you. Please type your comment there. Because…Comments are MUCH appreciated by all…
Thanks, bunches! I am praying for you, Mama!!! You matter to God (and to me)!
All Scripture is NLT (published by Tyndale House)

Thanks Pam! I pray over my kids regularly but don’t quote the promises of scriptures outside of our family bible time and church. This is a great reminder to weave it in throughout the day in a way that they’ll “catch” it vs. learn it. I’ll keep these verses handy!
Hi Emily, Ahhh, yes…the Word of God…living and active…rightly dividing truth and error. Our “secret weapon”. 🙂
