Hot topic: Renewable Energy

The older I get, the more I find myself pondering STRENGTH. Both physically and spiritually. Where does it come from? How do I sustain it? How do I get more of it?

”In today’s world, renewable energy is the fuel of tomorrow’s economy. When we pump a barrel of oil or dig a ton of coal out of the ground, it comes from a finite supply. The world’s underground deposits—though vast—are reduced by that barrel or ton. But when we capture the same amount of energy by a solar panel, a wind turbine, or a waterfall, it doesn’t reduce the sun or the wind or the river one bit. Hence, it’s renewable.” — The Strength You Need by Robert J. Morgan (p.87))

There is a “…spiritual side of renewable energy, which is as old as the Bible and as ancient as the human soul. God, as it were, created waterwheels in our hearts and windmills in our minds to catch the living waters and the fresh winds of the Spirit. He put solar reactors within us, aimed at the Son of God.” — The Strength You Need by Robert J. Morgan (p.88)

Jesus tells us that HE is the LIGHT of the world
Morgan’s book has reminded me of an article my mother wrote just months before she died. It was published in her Sunday School publication, Mount Up With Wings As Eagles. (I am sharing her article at the end of this post.)

Renewable Energy/Renewable Strength
Where does it come from? How do we get it spiritually and physically? What does Isaiah mean when he says: “They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.”– Isaiah 40:31 That is an amazing promise. But it is conditional

When WE…Then HE…
What does it mean to wait upon the Lord? I believe it means:

  • He gives us strength for the journey, when we look for that strength IN & FROM HIM.
  • He helps us to rise above the challenges and weariness of our days, when we look TO HIM as our source of all our needs.
  • We find Him, when we actively seek HIM.
  • IN HIM, we find our weariness fade away! Our strength is renewed.

Jesus is the source of the renewable strength and energy we all need and seek.
Praising Him for His perfect plan…

Now, here it is…
One woman’s (my Mother) testimony of renewed energy. Renewed strength and hope and joy…

My Mother’s article follows…

Agonizing Pain

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” –Matthew 11:28

A marble statue of Christ, fifteen feet tall, with this passage carved in the base, stands in the rotunda of Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland. But the Christ-like atmosphere does not end there. One does not search long to find Christ in the Doctors and Nurses also, as they strive day and night to heal the sick.

I know, because I have been a patient there, and was fortunate enough to have great and humble Doctors who recognize God as the greatest of all physicians.

I have had my Doctor suggest that we pray and wait for guidance. He gave my husband and me a wonderful theses which he had written about the Holy Spirit being with us and within us, and a prayer book. I know that I am fortunate to have such a channel to God.

After my Doctors, my family and friends and my Pastor prayed, we had the wonderful experience of seeing a tumor shrink from the size of a lemon until it was no larger than a pea. When it was later removed and a biopsy done, it proved that God has again demonstrated his love and power to heal.

Here, in Johns Hopkins Hospital, I found that when we reached up to God in prayers, He had lovingly reached down to us.
