7 Easy Steps Toward a “No Conflict Zone” Home

Do you long for your home to be a no conflict zone? A place of serenity?

advert-84408_640If you are in Overwhelm. If you think things can never change, then this blog is for you! You don’t have to be a victim of your circumstances any longer.

Since we know that the Mom sets the tone for the home, dear Overwhelmed Mom, let’s see what we can do to change your environment to be one you treasure and enjoy. A place EVERYONE wants to come home to. (Hey! I HEARD that…YES, you CAN!!!)

And, I have a 7 step easy-peasy plan for you…

Since each family is unique, it is important that you pray for God’s wisdom as you observe what causes conflict and why. Then…

  1. Be intentional that each of you gets enough sleep, protein, and water to drink. Then…
  2. Observe and learn to appreciate each other’s uniqueness. (Stuck here? I can help.)
  3. Focus on a positive character quality for each of you.
  4. Choose a life verse for each family member and pray with that verse in mind, daily.
  5. Ask for God’s plan for your family. It not only develops a deeper relationship with Him, but you are also admitting your need for His help and intervention. And that blesses Him.
  6. Regularly turn OFF the TV. Yes, it will be tough at first. But later, you will thank me! Then, be intentional about spending quality (AND quantity) time together. (Yes, despite what some experts say, BOTH are needed! Quality AND Quantity!)
  7. Be intentional to listen to and enjoy each other. Learn each other’s strengths and gifts and talents. (I can help with that.) AND affirm them!

Jim Cymbala, in his book, Fresh Faith shares:
“I want to affirm that God is not dead; He really does communicate today. He’s interested in every part of your life, your home, your finances, every kind of decision—and more than just the moral issues. His eye is always on you. He wants to lead you. But you have to believe that He will indeed speak to you when you wait before Him in believing prayer, with a yielded heart to do His will.”
